Motivationslyftet is part of the Star for Life
Group, which has operations in Sweden, South
Africa, and Namibia. In Sweden, the methodology
is based on the Swedish curriculum and the UN
Convention on the Rights of the Child and is used in
secondary schools, upper-secondary schools, special
schools and resource schools.

Motivationslyftet is currently running in 65
schools throughout Sweden. It strengthens young
people’s motivation, self-leadership and ability to
create meaningful relationships. As a result, the
individual pupil feels less stressed and achieves
better results. In the long term, this also helps to
reduce mental illness and social exclusion.

Despite global networks and social media, more and
more young people lack meaningful relationships.
22% report that they feel lonely, 27% say they have
no real friends, and 30% lack a best friend. This
loneliness cannot be cured with “likes”; quite the
contrary. Motivationslyftet is a systematic and
scientifically based programme that helps young
people understand how they can avoid unnecessary
stress and manage the stress that is inevitable.
Concrete tools strengthen pupils’ self-esteem and
conviction that they can set and achieve realistic
goals for their schoolwork, relationships with friends,
and extracurricular interests.
