CHAPTER 7 | Danir GHG inventory report 2022 24
Other specific examples are Sigma Connectivity, which has worked to develop climate-neutral projects through
detailed GHG inventories and mappings. Nexer Data Management is another interesting initiative based on help-
ing clients collect sustainability data similar to other master data – such as product data and supplier data – as
part of an overall data management strategy. Many of the consulting services delivered by the Danir Group, such
as in digitalisation and electrification, aim to help customers reduce their own and their customers’ emissions and
thus become more sustainable.
7.3 Summary of prioritised measures
Based on the analysis, the results of the GHG inventory and current environmental work within the Danir Group,
proposals for emission reduction measures are summarised and presented below, divided into four categories:
strategy, purchasing, travel and energy.
STRATEGY
• Continue to perform an annual group-wide calculation according to the GHG protocol.
• Perform GHG inventory calculations for the entire Group (the calculations are currently limited to the
operations in Sweden).
• It is recommended that each company within the Group sets targets and roadmaps to achieving reduced
emissions, either individually or with the help of Danir. Sigma and Nexer have already set overarching
targets, which will be broken down by each subgroup and company in the future. The targets should,
as far as possible, be measurable to facilitate follow-up of the work and can also serve as a tool to
meet future legal and customer requirements.
• Create a roadmap on which climate impact reduction measures should be prioritised.
• Share information and possibly coordinate sustainability work within the Group.
PURCHASING
• Encourage companies to review the lifespan of purchased electronics and extend the lifespan if possible.
In addition, opportunities for circular solutions should be sought, such as entering into agreements with
companies that can ensure that mobile phones and other electronics replaced by the Group are properly
handled so that they can be reused or recycled appropriately.
• Explore the possibility of creating a climate impact checklist when purchasing new goods.
• Encourage the companies to purchase food with a low climate impact to the greatest extent possible for
corporate events, for example. This is an item that is not included in the GHG inventory, but is something
that companies have control over and can therefore influence.
TRAVEL
• Trains should be the first choice over road vehicles and air for domestic travel, as emissions from business
travel have increased significantly from 2021 to 2022, especially for air travel.
• Increase the availability of electric and hybrid vehicles within the Group.
• Encourage the companies to conduct a more comprehensive mapping of the employee commuting situa-
tion to facilitate and/or create other incentives to switch to less environmentally harmful transport with a
developed travel plan. This will enable them to see which emission-saving measures are effective, as this
is one of the Group’s major emission categories.
