7.2  PROPERTY
     MANAGEMENT

    The Property Maintenance Section is responsible for the maintenance of all 18 DFB’s properties.

                                                Key activity in 2024 included:

                         DFB received Hand over of the baseline Building for the
                         development of the New DFB Logistics building in September 2024,
                         based in North City Business park. The process for completing the
                         fit out of the building has commenced with the anticipated open
                         date Q4 2025

                  Assisted with the design and development of the new Alfie Byrne
                  Road Station, Progress to detailed design stage now underway with
                  the anticipation of a Part 8 Application to be complete in 2025

                       The Delivery of the new purpose build Recruit facility in the OBI.
                       Property Management department overseen this project through
                       from initial concept design through to the interior fit out and the
                       delivery of the project on site to final handover to the OBI .

     Various large new and upgrade projects through DFB locations such as the
     upgrading of the male and Female welfare areas in the ERCC Building, New
     Foam Training area in the OBI, several DFB station Gym refurbishments, full
     emergency lighting upgrade to all locations and office upgrades to HQ building
     admin areas, substantial landscaping projects to 9 locations, station painting
     refurbishments as well as:

           • Maintaining full functionality of all existing properties in the DFB

          • Co-ordination of non-routine / emergency works to DFB properties.

              • Ensured all locations passed the relevant statuary inspections.

     • Co-ordinating maintenance contractors to ensure all planned maintenance
          is carried out to the highest standards and in line with H&S legislation.

         • Conduct ongoing reviews and inspection of maintenance contractors.

                        • Processing / Approvals of contractor payments

     • Identifying future DFB requirements for fire stations and logistics facilities.

          • Liaising with other Dublin City Council departments as required, to
            organise work programmes and respond to requests for inspections
                                             or related services.

       • Supervision of building works carried out under the contract, including
                 budget management and reporting to the Chief Fire Officer.  

      • Liaising with Dublin City Council & consultants appointed for new works
                                                projects in DFB
